After the winter weather and potholes! The car has from time to time been pinging and then throwing up Faulty Suspension on the screen.

Time to check with Lexia ===no codes present!
When the fault occurred, the car's ride would do all sorts of variations, including ride heights.
Time to check the wheel height sensors .....all ok.

Thinking cap on .... start checking with front N/S bushes all ok apart with some slack in the lower arm rear bush,
Could this be a probable cause with the arm movement and ecu not knowing precise inputs causing incorrect data with Amvar.

Removed n/s lower arm and removed rear bush , at the time could not get any Citroën parts so picked up a 407 bush, this needs spacers to correct the KPI etc. Since found out the correct OEM part can be obtained by MEYLE, however IMO the 407 bush and housing being smaller has less working movement and allows more accurate data from the wheel height sensor.

This work together with c/v boot replacement I carried out last month and the suspension has been faultless since.

The firmer 407 and the original c6 bushes

spacers just visible

Last year o/s bottom arm front bushes replaced, no faulty suspension messages alert given with them.

BTW the total measurement of the spacers from memory was 008.25mm.

The cv joint was cleaned and painted IMO the rust debris if left untreated can cause probs with the ABS, magnetic abs ring and bearing etc.

Interesting observation, hopefully it will help others in the future
